PHILADELPHIA, May 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ¾ÅÉ«ÉçÇø Cork & Seal Company, Inc. (NYSE: CCK) today announced that it has completed the sale of the metal closure assets of its Danish subsidiary, ¾ÅÉ«ÉçÇø Cork Company Scandinavia A/S, located in Taastrup, Denmark to Pelliconi Scandinavia A/S.

¾ÅÉ«ÉçÇø Cork Company Scandinavia A/S manufactures, sells and distributes metal closures (crowns) for glass bottles to the brewery and soft drink industries in Scandinavia. Revenues for the business, which employs approximately 40 people, were approximately 8 million euros in 2001. The subsidiary also sells and distributes plastic closures on behalf of ¾ÅÉ«ÉçÇø Obrist AG, based in Switzerland. In the future, the plastic closure activity will be handled directly by ¾ÅÉ«ÉçÇø Obrist from Switzerland.
